This Privacy Statement forms part of amica™'s Terms of Use.

amica™ (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting the personal information it holds. This Privacy Statement includes information about the use and disclosure of your information and is intended to help you make an informed decision about whether to use or continue to use amica™.

USER PROVIDED INFORMATION

Using the Website:

You do not need to provide any personally identifiable information to browse the amica™ website (the Website).

Using the Tool:

You provide certain personally identifiable information (such as your name and email address) when choosing to register to use the amica™ online platform (the Tool). You will need to upload some documents to provide to your partner if you are using the Tool to communicate with them.

Using the Webchat:

You do not usually need to provide personally identifiable information to use the amica™ webchat feature (the Webchat) ; although you will be asked some for some non-identifying information such as gender and postcode. You may need to provide personally identifiable information if you are seeking technical assistance with using the Tool, via the Webchat.

2. COOKIES

When you visit the Website the server that hosts the Website may send one or more cookies (a small text file that contains a string of alphanumeric characters) to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. The browser stores the message in a text file called cookie.txt. The message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.

The Website uses both session cookies and persistent cookies. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser. Persistent cookies may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Website. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser help file directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of amica™ may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.

3. CLEAR GIFS INFORMATION

When you use the Website, we may employ 'clear GIFs' (a.k.a. Web Beacons) which are used to track the online usage patterns of our Users anonymously (i.e., in a non-personally-identifiable manner). These GIFs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol ('IP') address, browser type, browser language, referring / exit pages and URLs, platform type, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed and the order of those pages, the amount of time spent on particular pages, the date and time of your request, and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.

4. THE WAY amica™ USES INFORMATION

When you submit personally identifiable information to us through the Tool, we use your personal information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of amica™ and the associated services.

We make a record of your visit and log the following information for statistical purposes:

  • your server (IP) address and machine name;
  • your top level domain name (e.g. .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc.)
  • the date and time of visit to this Site;
  • time spent on particular pages;
  • pages accessed and documents downloaded;
  • the number of bytes transmitted and received for each request;
  • the previous site or page visited;
  • the search engine and keywords used;
  • any linked referral; and
  • the type of browser used and its operating system.

We use both your personally identifiable information and certain non-personally-identifiable information (such as anonymous user usage data, cookies, IP addresses, browser type, clickstream data, etc.):

4.1 to improve the quality and design of amica™ and the associated services;

4.2 to create new features, functionality, and services by storing, tracking, and analysing user preferences and trends;

4.3 to prevent any unauthorised access to your registration details;

4.4 to make recommendations to users about other services we offer that may be of interest to you; and

4.5 to comply with any applicable laws and/or regulations.

We use cookies and clear gifs to:

4.6 provide custom, personalised content and information;

4.7 monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, pages viewed, etc.

5. STORAGE OF INFORMATION

amica™ stores information in data centres within Australia, managed by Amazon Web Services.

6. WHEN amica™ DISCLOSES INFORMATION

We may release personally identifiable information and/or non-personally-identifiable information if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws (such as Australian Copyright Law) or respond to a court order, subpoena, or search warrant.

We reserve the right to disclose personally identifiable information and/or non-personally-identifiable information that we believe, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to enforce our Terms of Use, take precautions against liability, to investigate and defend itself against any third-party claims or allegations, to assist government enforcement agencies, to protect the security or integrity of our web site, and to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of us, our users or others.

7. YOUR CHOICES

You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through the Tool or the Webchat, in which case amica™ may not be able to provide certain services to you. Please note that files and information uploaded by users to the Tool or the Webchat remain subject to our Terms of Use.

8. CHANGES AND UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY NOTICE

This Privacy Statement may be revised periodically and this will be reflected by the 'effective date' below. Please revisit this page to stay aware of any changes. Your continued use of amica™ or any part of the associated services constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Statement, our terms of Use, and any future revisions.
